I have been fishing since the age of well I don't even remember , I have always loved most fishing as long as it has been active[no sitting and waiting]When I was around 14 I picked up a fly rod and to be honest never looked back. My 1st fish on the fly was lucky , I had a sore arm and just left my rod In the water and watching my line I saw it shoot off and I had a fish .It was a lovely half pound brown trout from the river almond underneath the almond valley bridge We called it the fork
Outfit:
• Cheapo rod.
• Cheapo reel.
• Cheapo line.
• Drennan sub surface green 3lb leader.
• Selection of tied by my brother and bought flies, around 15.
• H&H 100% water/wind proof jacket.
Species Caught:
Fly Fishing:
Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout.
Other Method:
Pike, Roach, bream, grayling , snapper ,tarwhine ,silver belly,, Perch, , Mackrell, , Sea trout, Minnow, Eel :maybe more I don't even know
Favorite Stillwater:
Selmuir Trout Fishery.
Favorite River:
Almond
Best Catches:
Best Fish: 3.lb Brown Trout - selmuir - 2006.
Biggest Fish: 5.5lb Rainbow Trout - Markle Fishery - 2006.
Best Catch: 6 Rainbows -Akernowe res/Hawick- All 6 on a wet invicta - average 2lb.
Most successful flies:
invicta, pheasant tail nymph ,Hares ear nymph ,Black pennel, Blue and teal ,hoppers, woolly bugger. black spider ,grey duster,olives.
Challenges:
Catch a Pike on the fly.
Catch more wild brown trout because they are the best!
Dreams:
Fish chalk steams in any country for brownies (probable).
win the lottery (almost impossible).
