Blank At Selmmuir
I managed to get out for a few hour's on the water, and went back up to Selmmuir again to see if i could follow up on my previous two fish caught there last time.
Met up with John,he was telling me some of his plan's for the future of Selmmuir,he adviced me to use buzzer's(he even gave me a free buzzer to try one)
I did'nt manage to get up in the morning so i was on the water about 4:30pm just when the sun was nice and high and still very warm, well caught nothing for about 3 hour's then missed five fish in a row on a dry fly, blue dun.(the buzzer did'nt work for me John)
So i blanked but still enjoyed my few hour's fishing, i will be back up as i have to try to beat Wee Chrissy's 5lb 4oz that he caught on Tuesday night,Jammy little sod that he is.

Bad time of day.
I have noticed over the years that during the afternoon there seems to be a lul in activity. Now this may just be me but I find tht from around 15:00 till about 18:00 there is often less activity. What I tend to do during these times is to fish deeper, slower and bigger, (same way I fish if there's no movement) sometimes works for me. I have always found my best fishing comes from 19:00 onwards.
Better luck next time.
bad day at selmmuir
hi what flies where you using.bad luck better luck next time.
Selmmuir bad day
Hi Chrissy M, i tried using Buzzer's, cat's whisker's,nymphs, and then a few dry flie's.
The only action i had fell to a Blue dun dry fly.
There is always the next time to catch plenty more fish.
