Bob G. I started fishing on the Almond at East Whitburn in 1947 before moving to Whitburn in 1948 which I think qualifies me as a downdie.

Besides fishing the Almond I also fished the Avon, the Breich, the Barbauchlaw, the Linnhouse and Loch Cote (when they couldn't catch me). I also fished most of the big rivers and lochs with the old Whitrigg Angling Club.

Since I retired a few years ago I've come back to the local burns and manage to catch the odd troot or two on all of them except Loch Cote. It's nice to see the local burns making a comeback.

I spend quite a lot of time on the Tweed round about Innerleithen plus lots of other rivers both big and small that I can reach using my bus pass. Twice a week I fish Hillend with a couple of pals but this is the only rainbow fishing I do - just don't like fisheries.

Welcome

Hello and welcome the FFWL. I am glad to see you are enjoying the local rivers, they offer some great sport. How well does Hillend fish???

I hope you will enjoy lending your experience to the community and joining in the various debates, your welcome to start a few.

Douglas
