Selmmuir Trout

Managed to get up to Selmuir for 4 hours fishing today and glad i went, after the sun burn suffered the last time this time the weather was cooler, with a little rain (one heavy downpour).
I managed to catch two full finned, hard fighting Rainbows, both identical weight's 2lb 13oz.
The first was caught at the shed end using a black foam bettle on the surface, the second using a gold head cat's whisker half way down on the right hand side of the water.
Both fish put up a good fight, taking 3-4 min to land them each, i also missed out on another two fish, once while talking to a man with his dog , i was to slow on the take.
Selmuir is a lovely peacefull place to go fishing, if you have'nt tried it i would recommend it to you, you will be greeted by a warm welcome,and hard fighting fish.

My old mate,Roy, was happy he caught one that was a bit bigger than the one's i caught, but i did remind him i caught two ha ha

Hi all, Went to selmuir yesterday with the wee boy (wee alex)
and wee caught two cracking fish. The wee man caught one about 2 pounds on a sunk daddy and i caught one about 2.5 pounds on a green buzzer. The only problem was we spent most of our time in the wee hut due to the rain but we didnt care.Had a great time and will be back asap.

alex you are more than welcome to bring young alex up and practice his casting at selmmuir anytime and i will sort out a wee fly box for him with some of my flies on wednesday when am up.

Thats great john, we will be back up asap. Hopefully the weather will be better next visit ,allthough it couldnt be any worse than sunday. Roll on the so called indian summer we are supposed to be getting.
